Step into the masjid with the right foot — a general Sunnah of entering good places.

Pray the greeting of the masjid
«When one of you enters the masjid, let him not sit until he prays two rakʿahs» — unless the iqāmah is called or the congregational prayer has started.

Do not raise your voice
Keep your voice low; the masjid is a house of worship, not a marketplace. ʿUmar rebuked those who raised voices in the masjid.

Avoid worldly talk
Do not buy, sell, or conduct worldly affairs in the masjid. It is a place dedicated to worship and remembrance.

Do not announce lost items
«Whoever hears a man announcing a lost item in the masjid, let him say: May Allah not return it to you» — the masjid is not for this.

Keep it clean
Keep the masjid pure; do not bring in foul odours (garlic, onion, smoke) that disturb others. The masjid is the house of Allah.

Do not spit in the masjid
«Spitting in the masjid is a sin; its expiation is to bury it (wipe it away).»

Do not cross in front of a praying person
If someone is praying, do not walk between them and their sutrah (barrier). Wait or pass behind.

Make space for others
When the masjid fills, make room and do not spread belongings to save seats unnecessarily.
General adab
Children are welcome but taught
Bring children to the masjid to raise them in worship, but teach them proper etiquette and do not let them cause disruption.
