Remembrance of Allah throughout the day

Morning Adhkār

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ

We have reached the morning and dominion belongs to Allah — praise be to Allah, there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

Glory to Allah and praise Him — whoever says it one hundred times, his sins are forgiven even if like the foam of the sea.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the sky can harm — He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيًّا

I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Islam as religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as Prophet — Allah is pleased with him as such.

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

O Allah, by You we reach the morning, by You we reach the evening, by You we live and die, and to You is the resurrection.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ (سيد الاستغفار)

Sayyid al-Istighfār (the master of seeking forgiveness): the best duʿā of morning/evening — whoever says it with certainty and dies that day, enters Paradise.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created — whoever says it three times in the evening is not harmed that night.

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

O Allah, by You we reach the evening and by You we reach the morning, by You we live and die, and to You is the return.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created — protection until morning.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, inability and laziness, stinginess and cowardice, the burden of debt, and the domination of men.

After Prayer

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

I seek the forgiveness of Allah — three times after every prayer.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace; blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allah is Greatest — after every prayer. The 34th: «Lā ilāha illallāh waḥdahu lā sharīka lah…» completes one hundred.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

O Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You in the best manner.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

There is no deity but Allah — the best of dhikr.

Glory and praise to Allah; glory to Allah the Mighty — two light phrases on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful.

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

There is no power and no strength except with Allah — a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Allah is sufficient for us and the best Disposer of affairs — said by Ibrāhīm when thrown into the fire.

3:173

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Glory to Allah, praise to Allah, there is no deity but Allah, Allah is Greatest — the most beloved words to Allah.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad — whoever sends one, Allah sends ten upon him.
