Belief in the unseen
True faith begins with believing in what we cannot see — Allah, angels, jinns, the soul, the Hereafter. «Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend from what We provided.»

What are jinn?
Created from smokeless fire; they have free will like humans, eat, marry, and die. Some believe, some disbeliever. Their communities are hidden from us.

Jinn possession
Permitted in principle — the jinn may overpower the human. Protection is through dhikr, Quran, and seeking refuge in Allah.

Siḥr (magic)
Magic exists but is forbidden to learn or practice — the two angels at Bābil (Hārūt and Mārūt) taught it as a test. Seeking protection is through the muʿawwidhatayn (113–114) and 2:102.

Avoiding superstition
Belief in omens, fortune-telling, and astrology is forbidden — they have no effect. «No infection (without Allah's decree), no evil omen, no owl, and the month of Ṣafar brings no disease.»

Fortune-tellers
Whoever consults a fortune-teller and believes them has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad ﷺ. If he does not believe them, his prayer is not accepted for forty days.

Evil eye (al-ʿayn)
The evil eye is real — «If anything were to overtake destiny, the evil eye would.» Protection is the ḥijāb of dhikr and saying «mā shāʾ Allāh» (by Allah's will) when admiring.

The soul (ar-rūḥ)
The soul is a matter of the unseen — «They ask you about the soul. Say: the soul is from the command of my Lord, and you have been given little knowledge.»

Angels (malāʾikah)
Created from light, they do not disobey Allah and do as He commands. Jibrīl, Mīkāʾīl, Isrāfīl, the Angel of Death, Munkar, Nakīr, Raqīb, ʿAtīd, Mālik (guardian of the Fire), Riḍwān (Paradise).

Means of Protection
Āyat al-Kursī
Reciting 2:255 in the morning and evening grants protection from jinn until the night, and from all harm until the evening.

Last two surahs
Surah al-Falaq (113) and Surah an-Nās (114) three times morning and evening — «sufficient for you against everything.»

Bismillah before entering
Saying «bismillah» before entering the house, eating, and undressing keeps devils from eating, sleeping, and entering there.

The adhkār of morning and evening shield from unseen harm — they are the believer's armor.

«Treat your sick with charity» — giving ṣadaqah repels affliction and protects from the evil eye.

Whoever recites the last two verses of Sūrah al-Baqarah (2:285–286) at night, it is sufficient for him.
