Fiqh of Hajj - The Journey of a Lifetime
Learn about Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam — the pilgrimage to Makkah.
Hajj is the fifth and final pillar of Islam. It is the pilgrimage to Makkah, required once in a lifetime for every Muslim who is physically and financially able. Hajj takes place during the month of Dhul-Hijjah, specifically from the 8th to the 13th. The key rituals of Hajj include: 1. Ihram — entering the state of pilgrimage, wearing special white garments. 2. Tawaf — circling the Ka'bah seven times. 3. Sa'i — running between Safa and Marwa seven times. 4. Arafat — standing on the plain of Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah (the most important part of Hajj). 5. Muzdalifah — spending the night under the open sky. 6. Stoning the Jamaraat — throwing stones at three pillars representing Shaytan. 7. Eid al-Adha — sacrificing an animal. 8. Shaving or trimming the hair. The Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever performs Hajj for Allah's sake and does not commit obscenity or evil, returns as free from sin as the day they were born. Hajj is a deeply spiritual journey where Muslims from all over the world — every race, color, and language — gather as equals before Allah.
Qur'an Verses

Wa lillahi 'ala an-nasi hajju al-bayti mani is-tata'a ilayhi sabila
Translation: And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House — for whoever is able.
