Saying Sorry to Allah - Tawbah for Kids
Learn that when we make a mistake, we should say sorry to Allah.
Sometimes we all make mistakes. We might do something wrong or forget to do something good. But Allah is the Most Forgiving! When we make a mistake, we should say sorry to Allah. This is called Tawbah — repentance. The Prophet ﷺ said: Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent. To say sorry to Allah: 1. Stop doing the bad thing. 2. Feel sorry in your heart. 3. Say: Astaghfirullah (I seek Allah's forgiveness). 4. Try not to do it again. Allah loves it when we say sorry! The Prophet ﷺ used to say Astaghfirullah 100 times every day! When we say sorry, Allah forgives us and loves us even more. So never be shy to say sorry to Allah — He is always ready to forgive!
Qur'an Verses
قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ
Qul ya 'ibadiya alladhina asrafu 'ala anfusihim la taqnatu min rahmati Allah
Translation: Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah.
Authentic Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said: Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent. He also said: I seek Allah's forgiveness one hundred times a day.
Explanation
This hadith shows that making mistakes is normal, but what matters is saying sorry (Tawbah). Even the Prophet ﷺ sought forgiveness 100 times a day, teaching us to always turn back to Allah.
When we make mistakes, we should say sorry to Allah (Tawbah). Say Astaghfirullah and try not to do it again. Allah is the Most Forgiving and loves those who repent.
