My First Surah - Al-Fatihah

Surah Al-Fatihah is the first Surah in the Quran! It has seven beautiful verses. We recite it in every prayer (Salah). It is so important that the Prophet ﷺ said: There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah). The Surah starts with Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim, then Alhamdulillahi Rabb al-alamin (All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds). Then Ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (The Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful). Then Maliki yawm ad-din (Master of the Day of Judgment). Then Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in (You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help). Then Ihdina as-sirat al-mustaqim (Guide us to the straight path). Learn to say Al-Fatihah — it is the most important Surah in the Quran!
Qur'an Verses
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim. Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'alamin
Translation: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Authentic Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said: There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah).
