Prophet Harun (AS) - The Supporter of Musa
Learn about Prophet Harun (AS), the brother of Musa, who supported him in his mission.
Prophet Harun (peace be upon him) was the older brother of Prophet Musa (AS). When Allah sent Musa to Pharaoh, Musa prayed: 'My Lord, expand for me my breast, and ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue, and appoint for me a helper from my family — Harun, my brother.' Allah granted Musa's request and made Harun a prophet too. Together, they confronted Pharaoh and called the Children of Israel to Allah. Harun (AS) was a powerful speaker — Musa had a speech impediment, so Harun would often speak on his behalf. When Musa went to Mount Tur to receive the Torah, he left Harun in charge of the people. But some of the people built a golden calf to worship while Musa was away. Harun tried to stop them, but they refused. When Musa returned, he was angry with Harun, but Harun explained that he had tried his best. Despite this, Harun (AS) remained a faithful prophet and supporter of his brother. The Quran mentions Harun alongside Musa many times.
