Prophet Lut (AS) - The Destroyed Cities
Learn about Prophet Lut (AS) and the cities that were destroyed for their wickedness.
Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) was the nephew of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Allah sent him to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The people of Lut were wicked and committed terrible sins. They were the first people to commit homosexual acts. Lut (AS) warned them to stop and worship Allah alone, but they refused and mocked him. They even threatened to expel Lut from their city. Allah sent angels to Lut in the form of handsome men. The people tried to attack them, but the angels blinded them. The angels told Lut to leave the city with his family at night and not to look back. In the morning, Allah turned the cities upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. Only Lut and his daughters were saved — his wife looked back and was destroyed because she sympathized with the wicked people.
