Prophet Salih (AS) - The She-Camel of Allah

Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) was sent to the people of Thamud. The people of Thamud were wealthy and carved beautiful homes in the mountains. But they were arrogant and worshipped idols. Salih (AS) called them to worship Allah alone. As a sign, Allah sent a miraculous she-camel that came out of a rock. The she-camel had special rules — she would drink from the well one day, and the people's animals would drink the next day. But the arrogant people refused this test. They killed the she-camel. Salih (AS) warned them that they had three days before punishment. On the third day, a terrible earthquake destroyed them all. Only Salih and the believers were saved.
Qur'an Verses
وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا
Wa-ila Thamuda akhahum Salihan
Translation: And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih.
فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ
Fa-'aqaru an-naqata wa 'ataw 'an amri rabbihim
Translation: So they hamstrung the she-camel and insolently defied the order of their Lord.
Authentic Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ passed by the land of Thamud and said: 'Do not enter the places of those who were unjust unless you weep, for I fear that what befell them may befall you.'
Explanation
The Prophet ﷺ warned his companions about the ruins of Thamud, reminding them to take lessons from destroyed nations.
When Allah sends a sign, we must respect it. Disobeying Allah's commands leads to destruction.
