The Five Pillars of Islam
Learn the five foundations that every Muslim should know and practice.
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to: - Name all five pillars of Islam - Explain what each pillar means - Understand why they are important
Islam is built on five important pillars, just like a house is built on strong foundations. If a house has no pillars, it falls down. In the same way, our faith is built on these five pillars: 1. Shahadah — Believing that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ is His messenger. 2. Salah — Praying five times every day. 3. Zakat — Giving charity to people who need help. 4. Sawm — Fasting during the month of Ramadan. 5. Hajj — Making the pilgrimage to Makkah if you are able to. These five pillars help us stay close to Allah and be good Muslims.

Wa ma umiru illa liya'budu Allaha mukhlisina lahu ad-dina
Translation: And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion.
